Office Administrator

Novatech is seeking a motivated and highly organized individual to join our Administration Team.  We are looking for a professional who is detail-oriented, proactive, and enjoys working on a variety of tasks supporting internal teams and interacting with clients.

Responsibilities

  • Support project teams with formatting various documents, document production/binding as required, and booking/setting up meeting rooms.
  • Back up to Receptionist: greet clients, answer phone and direct calls; facilitate and arrange couriers and outgoing mail; review and distribute incoming mail, etc.
  • Manage multiple company email accounts, promptly responding to inquiries and forwarding messages as necessary to ensure smooth communication.
  • File and retrieve archive material and maintain the archive database.
  • Assist with coordinating office and social events, meeting catering, lunch and learns, etc.
  • Provide administrative assistance to the Accounting department, as needed.
  • Update and manage Novatech LinkedIn account with new content.
  • Attend and support Joint Health & Safety Committee meetings and initiatives and order safety supplies (PPE).
  • Ensure common areas are tidy and organized, including meeting rooms, kitchen & dishwasher upkeep, and coffee bar. Add cleaning requests to the Janitor’s Log Book, and maintenance requests to the Building Maintenance Log Book.
  • Assist the Facilities Manager with building and maintenance issues, including placing service calls.
  • Perform other duties as required to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook & Access
    (Bluebeam, Adobe Creative Suite, and Social Media web platforms experience are an asset).
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in an administrative role.

Landscape Technician (New Graduate)

Novatech is seeking a Water Resources engineering graduate to join our established and growing team.  We are looking for someone who appreciates using design concepts to build sustainable water resources infrastructure to contribute to developing communities in an environmentally responsible way.    If you desire growth in a variety of projects and have the  energetic spirit conducive to a dynamic team environment, this may be an ideal fit.

Responsibilities

  • Help conduct site inventory and analysis
  • Assist Landscape Architects prepare conceptual and detailed design
  • Help prepare graphic presentations, design briefs and technical reports
  • Assist in developing cost estimates and tender documents
  • Support contract administration and field review activities
  • Work directly with planners, other landscape architects, land development and municipal engineers, and other team members as part of an integrated project team

Skills & Qualifications

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications is required.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign), SketchUp, Revit, and PowerPoint is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong design, graphic, computer, and technical writing skills.
  • Strong time management, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as a part of a team.
  • Related experience through student work placement is an asset.
  • A valid Province of Ontario driver’s license.

Civil Engineering Technologist New Graduate

Novatech is seeking an experienced transportation civil engineer to join our established and growing transportation team. We are looking for an individual who is enthusiastic about traffic and transportation design, in support of our land development and public infrastructure projects. If you enjoy building relationships and working collaboratively in a dynamic team environment, this may be an ideal fit.

What You Will Do

  • Prepare traffic impact analysis and report preparation, including coordinating traffic counts, calculating growth rates, trip generation, assessing traffic impact at access locations/nearby intersections and compiling recommended roadway improvements
  • Contribute to the development of design concepts into preliminary designs, including preparation of design briefs, detailed geometry and general layout development, and other infrastructure elements
  • Work directly with land development and public sector infrastructure engineers, planners, landscape architects, and other team members as part of an integrated multi-disciplinary project team
  • Support application of current industry practices and standards to undertake transportation engineering analysis following approved standards and procedures
  • Assist with preliminary grading and servicing design for transportation projects
  • Develop project coordination, delegating, mentoring, and, ultimately, project management skills
