Civil Engineering Inspector

Description

Candidates should possess a College diploma and/or civil construction experience.  Ability to work in a collaborative team is essential. Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D is required. This is a full time position with 40-50 hours a week during peak construction season. Pay will be an hourly rate based on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Coordination and communication with civil engineers, planners and landscape architects and other project team members as part of an integrated project team.
  • Inspection of heavy civil construction projects, responsible for quality and quantity assurance, preparation of payment certificates and some survey duties if required.
  • Compile daily or weekly inspection reports on various construction sites.
  • Construction layout of sewers, watermains, sidewalks, curbs, utilities and roadways, or pre-engineering surveys using a total station or GPS instrument when called upon to work as a survey crew member.

Skills & Qualifications

Land Development Engineer

Description

Candidates should possess minimum 5 years experience in land development engineering, including design and subdivision/site plan experience. Ability to work on a collaborative team basis is essential. The successful candidate will participate in developing design concepts into preliminary designs, including preparation of design briefs and general layout development, preliminary grading, servicing design and construction cost estimates. Qualification or pending qualification as a professional engineer is required. Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Microsoft Office.

Description

Novatech is seeking a graduate from an accredited Land Use Planning university program to join our Planning & Development team. Ability to work in a collaborative team is essential. The successful candidate will coordinate and complete development approval applications, including Official Plan amendment, zoning amendment, Committee of Adjustment, Plan of Subdivision, Site Plan Control and condominium applications. Strong analytical and report writing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and complete development approval applications, including Official Plan amendment, zoning amendment, Committee of Adjustment, Plan of Subdivision, Site Plan Control and condominium applications.
  • Review preliminary concepts and perform due diligence activities and project evaluation.
  • Prepare supporting documents such as Planning Rationales.
