Project Description
Novatech was retained by the City of Ottawa for the multi-phased, multi-year integrated rehabilitation of Churchill Ave. from Scott St. to Carling Ave. (including a section of Scott east of Churchill), a total length of approx. 1,950m within Ward 15 (Kitchissippi). Ottawa’s first raised cycle tracks were designed within the boulevards, making Churchill Ave. Ottawa first “complete street”. The project had a total construction value of approximately $21M.
At the completion of the project, then-Deputy City Manager, Nancy Schepers, said in an email to the project team: “Through the completion of this project, we have put the notion of a complete street as outlined in the Transportation Management Plan (TMP) into practice, benefitting cyclists, pedestrians and motorists alike. I was very happy to hear of this completion on budget and ahead of schedule. Job well done!”
